The problem
he Problem (Before Treatment) Following Left Total Hip Replacement surgery, I had weakness of the operated leg and difficulty with walking and functional movements. I also had a documented left-leg length discrepancy (LLD). Physiotherapy was started soon after surgery to work on muscle activation, strength, mobility, gait and functional recovery.
Treatment at RelieveX
At RelieveX Physiotherapy Center, my rehabilitation included: - Quadriceps and hamstring strengthening - Straight Leg Raise (SLR) - Heel sliding exercises - Ankle pumps and calf stretching - Hip abduction and adduction exercises - Hip internal and external rotation exercises - Knee extension exercises - Gait training - Standing weight shifting - Balance training - Squatting - Stair-climbing practice - Functional and walking exercises The rehabilitation was progressively advanced as my movement and functional ability improved.
The result
By the later stages of rehabilitation, the program had progressed from basic strengthening and mobility exercises to squatting, balance training, gait training and stair climbing. These documented progressions reflect improvement in functional rehabilitation following THR. The final treatment entries continued to include squatting, hamstring curls, balance exercises, tandem walking, side walking, backward walking, stair climbing and gait training, demonstrating progression toward higher-level functional activities.
In Yashvantbhai's words
“I underwent Left Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery and initially had difficulty with strength, walking and movement of my operated leg. I also had a leg length difference (LLD) after surgery. I started physiotherapy at RelieveX Physiotherapy Center shortly after my surgery. The treatment included exercises for strengthening the hip and leg muscles, straight leg raises, heel sliding, ankle exercises, hip abduction, stretching, knee extension, gait training and balance exercises. As my recovery progressed, the exercises were advanced according to my ability. I worked on standing balance, gait training, squatting and stair climbing, which helped me become more confident with functional movements. I am thankful to Dr. Shreya Patel PT and RelieveX Physiotherapy Center for the consistent guidance, exercises and effort throughout my recovery.”
